    The Reeds were pioneers of the modern home schooling movement. This third edition was prepared by Jean and includes commentary by Donn, who died in 1995. This charming 480-page volume describes hundreds of products you can buy from Brook Farm Books, the Reed’s company, or from another source. You will also find lots of advice on why and how to home teach various subjects and principles from a "natural" point of view. Donn held high moral values without being bound to any particular set of beliefs except that he was not a "fundamentalist." Home School Phone Book, The A book of addresses, websites, e-mail contacts and, of course, phone numbers. The information is organized into three main categories: curriculum resources, noncurriculum resources, and state resources, each divided into sub-categories. The book is free but you may need to pay postage if you want to get it directly from the publisher. Online Bible and Power Bible The latter is newer and inexpensive. Expect $19. Both are CDs and have nice features. I examined Power Bible 3.0. Except for a few rather minor points, it is excellent and easy to use. It includes several Bible versions. The interlinear feature allows you to click on the original word and read its definition. My version of Online Bible is 7.05. It has more versions and perhaps a better dictionary although some features (like cut-and-paste) is more awkward (unless the newer version has changed that). Its price is higher but probably still less than you would pay for other concordances. Check the US sales website for both http://www.biblecd.com.

Educational Travel On a Shoestring When you travel, save room for this book packed with ideas. Judy Allee and Melissa Morgan, authors of Homeschooling on a Shoestring make travel a series of learning and sharing experiences. They remind of some things you already know like car travel being more economical than flying when you have a larger family. But what they tell you about looking for information about an area you plan to visit or volunteering or collecting plant specimens along the way or pros and cons of owning an RV or taking pictures to sell can enrich your experience.
